Posted by:     Time:2010-04-25

The 16th International Symposium on Electromachining (ISEM XVI), which is organized by China Society of Nontraditional Machining and hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is held from April 19-23 in Shanghai, China. Professor Zhao from Me-SJTU is appointed as chairman.

Sponsored by CIRP, the symposium offers an opportunity for researchers worldwide to present their very latest achievements on nontraditional manufacturing technology researches. The symposium also provides a unique opportunity for open exchange of ideas about future research in a friendly and professional environment. Several industrial visits around the great Yangtze River Delta are arranged and a tour highlighting the historic attractions in the city and surrounding areas will be offered as well.

The International Symposium on Electromachining (ISEM) is a triennial meeting of academia and industry that specialize in electro/physical machining. This event conducted under the auspices of the  International Academy for Production Engineering (previously known as International Institution for Production Engineering Research and also CIRP, from  the French name “Collège International pour la Recherche en Productique”) serves as a platform for the dissemination of the latest scientific and technological accomplishments that represent the state-of-the-art in unconventional machining processes. The ever increasing diversity of the geographical locations of participants and the wider spectrum of topics covered since the beginning of ISEM in 1960’s is a  testimony of the growing success and popularity of this international symposium.
