Howard University Delegation, headed by Barron H. Harvey, Dean of School of Business visited ME-SJTU on May 18, 2010.
Located in Washington, D.C., Howard University is the most prominent African American educational institution in the U.S. Though open to students of any ethnicity all over the world, it was founded (1867) with a special obligation to educate African American students. It owns schools and colleges of various disciplines, such as business, engineering, public administration, human ecology, medicine, dentistry, law, etc.
The delegation combined MBA students and teachers from School of Business. Profess Yingzheng LIU, vice dean of ME first made a brief introduction of SJTU to the guests. Six students from ME joined communication with Howard University Delegation. Among the six students, three students came back from America attending Engineering Project Exposition in Penn State University last week, sponsored by TYCO International; another three will visit Howard University due to summer school program, also sponsored by TYCO International. The six students later accompany the delegation around the campus and students from both universities exchange their university experiences and their research interests.
Both sides look forward their get-together this summer and future collaboration!
